Workshop Description
The workshop is provided over two hours and the dates and times are flexible. The workshop is offered on Zoom. Prior to the workshop, the nursing program can email Gina the test blueprint used in the curriculum as well as sample test items. Gina will review the materials prior to the workshop and offer feedback during the live session. Gina will provide guidance to the nursing faculty on teaching and learning strategies that assist students in clinical judgment, which also facilitates test blueprint construction and item writing considerations. Examples will be provided. A thorough blueprint will be discussed and provided to the faculty with instruction on utilization.
Prior to the workshop, Gina will email the faculty PowerPoint slides and the test blueprint that align with the teaching provided.
Gina will review sample test items and the current blueprint the nursing department uses and provide feedback.
Two hours of live teaching will be provided as well as time for open discussion and recommendations on faculty practices.
Faculty will learn how to blueprint and reverse blueprint to assist in exam and quiz development as well as analysis of existing exams and quizzes. Blueprint considerations include various topics such as the nursing process, Bloom’s, content, patient needs related to the teaching module, concepts, domains, competencies, integrated processes, and the CJMM.
The program’s curriculum will be discussed and how exams in terms of difficulty level align.
Next Gen NCLEX item styles are reviewed as well as various strategies to prepare students. Exam software is also discussed for capabilities.
Accreditation considerations are aligned with the workshop and blueprint construction.
